We caught up with former pupil Ben, who passed his test shortly before lockdown to see how he is enjoying life on the road. Great to see he is maintaining high standards of driving

"Since I passed my test in February, I have done countless journeys to many places, none of which
have included any accidents or incidents, except the occasional kerb scrape when trying to park! I feel my driving abilities have progressed since being able to drive independently and I love being
in the car alone being in charge of the aux lead!
Since buying my vehicle, I have used it to visit family recently (following COVID-19 guidance), been out
to shopping centres, travelling to and from work, food shopping, etc.
Getting my drivers license is the best thing I’ve ever done! It makes everyday life so much easier, you
can take yourself where
ver you want to go, and it means you don’t have to rely on public transport or family members for lifts;
couldn’t encourage people enough to get their license ASAP!
The most valuable thing I learnt whilst learning to drive was how to be calm is pressure situations that
arose when driving, for example: new situations that I was uncomfortable in, because it is much easier to handle them if you’re calm, so don’t panic!"
